When it comes to day porter and janitorial services, we have a preconceived idea of what these services mean, and what our expectations are when hiring cleaning professionals. However, there are in fact various methods, products and purposes involved in these simple cleaning tasks. What’s the difference? Glad you asked!
Cleaning, Sanitizing & Disinfecting:
These terms tend to be intertwined when discussing scope of work for day porters and janitors. On the surface (so to speak;-) it’s easy to consider them as meaning the same thing, but not so. Let’s start with a, (eh-hem;-), clean slate!
• Cleaning: The method of picking up dirt, debris and germs from a surface, then wiping the surface with soap and water.
• Sanitize: The method of removing bacteria from a surface when wiping it down with an all purpose cleaner.
• Disinfecting: The method of destroying bacteria, fungi and viruses from a surface when wiping it down with a disinfectant.
At Atlas Property Service, we use a 3 in 1 cleaner, Portion Pac. This product is recommended for its highest efficiency to wipe down surfaces and then lightly spray it on the surface to air dry. This double method is very commonly used during our current pandemic emergency.
Also available with Atlas Property Service, is our Electro Static Sprayer along with high grade disinfectant. This deep cleaning method requires the area serviced to remain closed to all persons for a period of 24 hours. This service would be recommended for reopening of gyms, clubhouses, office buildings, retail centers and other high traffic common areas and amenities.
Atlas Property Service is poised and ready to provide the highest quality day porter and janitorial services.
This concludes our cleaning vocabulary lesson of the day!
